GYDER® Surgical Awarded Australian Government Commercial Grant to Propel Innovation and Growth

MULGRAVE, Australia & Palo Alto, USA, 18th December ,– GYDER® Surgical , a MedTech company specialising in intuitive, non-invasive orthopaedic navigation solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded Grant Award – GA340141 through the Entrepreneurs’ Programme – Accelerating Commercialisation under the Australia Department of Industry, Science and Resources. The grant award will support Gyder Surgical to commercialise the GYDER® Hip System and achieve launch and first sales in Australia and the USA.

Currently, the GYDER® Hip System has  regulatory approval by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) of Australia.  The GYDER® Hip  System is a computer assisted, pin-less guidance system used during Total Hip Arthroplasty via the Anterior Approach. It is designed to provide real-time guidance to assist the surgeon in positioning the acetabular cup in the intended orientation during primary or revision Total Hip Arthroplasty. Improved cup placement accuracy has significant potential to reduce post-surgery complications, thereby improving patient outcomes and lowering health system cost burden1. According to the Australian Orthopaedic Association National Joint Replacement Registry2  , 52,863 hip joint replacement surgeries were performed in 2022 in Australia alone. Demand for technologies that improve surgical accuracy is expected to grow globally with increasing surgical volume driven by aging demographics.

The grant will empower GYDER® Surgical to drive forward with commercial activities aimed at bringing to life and creating access for surgeons and their patients to this innovative device. This includes a Post Market Study planned in Adelaide and establishing a sales distributor network. “We are excited and grateful for the support provided by the  Entrepreneur’s Programme . This grant is a testament to our ongoing dedication to excellence and our vision for shaping the future of Navigation in Orthopaedics ” said Sujit Dike, CEO of GYDER® Surgical. “The funds will be instrumental in accelerating our efforts to get this technology into the hands of Orthopaedic Surgeons,  ultimately positioning GYDER® Surgical as a leader in Computer Assisted Navigation.”
